Can I use ChipIn Shot Tracker with foam or plastic balls indoors?

Last updated October 13, 2026

Yes, the shot tracker will still track and analyze foam or plastic balls, but keep in mind—it will analyze the actual flight of those balls as they behave, without adjusting the data to match real golf ball performance.

So while it’s great for safe indoor practice, especially in tighter spaces, the carry distance, ball speed, and spin metrics will reflect what those lighter balls actually do in the air—not what a real ball would’ve done.

For the most accurate, real-world results, use real golf balls whenever possible.

Still stuck.
